Education is the most important thing to change the mindset of the Next Generation as well as inform them on what jobs are out there in the agriculture industry. The Cattle Call was designed to provide key insight into the agriculture industry, ranch management, food safety, and career opportunities in hope that our youth will grow to appreciate that our food comes from hard-working families and agriculture is the heartbeat and lifeblood of our great nation.

Kylan Canon - Host
Kylan Canon is a senior in high school and will be attending Texas A&M University to major in Animal Science in the fall. She is a 7th generation Texas rancher and raises cattle and American Quarter Horses with her family. She is a Texas 4-H Livestock and Equine Ambassador, President of the Burleson County 4-H Horse Club, Livestock Judging Team, and 4-H County Council. Kylan loves spending her time serving across the state at numerous events such as ring stewarding, speaking at elementary schools, and special needs buddy drive. Through these experiences, Kylan has served over 750 hours across the state since her freshman year. She is also actively involved in the Texas Major Stock Shows in Equine Skillathons, Public Speaking, Livestock Judging, Quilting, and Landscape Challenges.

Steve Canon was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Montgomery where he graduated high school. His first word was "horse", and this one word became a significant part of his life after graduation. From funding his own college education by working as a farrier to working as a wrangler in full time camp ministry, he has truly learned the importance of hard work and determination to overcome the difficulties set before him. Mr. Canon now works at Texas A&M University in the Agriculture & Life Science Department.
